Emily and Alice are our Buff Indian Runner Ducks. and Rikki Rikki and Tavi are the grey girls. They run all over the farm side by side, eating bugs, slugs and ticks, and other stuff in the grass and underbrush. They are super social, they are our door bell.
The whites of duck eggs have almost twice the protein of chicken eggs and they are prized by bakers for the firm and lofty egg whites they produce. We find the white part of a fried duck egg to be firmer and more toothsome than its chicken counterpart. Scrambled they are silky and delicious. The shells are considerably harder than chicken eggs so you really have to whack them hard to crack em!
If you order online, we will receive a notification and will save you a dozen in the fridge of our farm store. Stop by whenever you like and pick them up!
